Student Government

The Mackinac College Catalogue 1966-67 describes Student Government in this way:

"At the birth of America the town meetings of New England were a vital growing point of democracy, in both spirit and practice. Student government at Mackinac has been launched in that pattern because to be effective it requires the involvement, independent thought, and sense of responsibility of every member of the student body. Leaders of the student government are elected by their fellow students."
